Ironjaws Army Post

So i’ve had a bunch of Orruk Ironjaw models for ages, with a plan for a major converted army that i have not done yet.

But i happen to have bought a lot of them, and have way too many. So when the idea of playing Warcry came up i decided to paint some up as actual Ironjaws. In one of the many joblots i had bought i had a bunch of already assembled models, so decided to paint them.

I was inspired by a video that Vince Venturella did where he speed painted an army for AOS. while i could not be arsed getting out my airbrush i decided to use this as a template.

Painting recipes:

Basecoat - Rattlecan them with mephiston red over black , and then xenithalled with white.

Armour - Over that for the armour i used Contrast Nazdreg yellow, highlighted with Vallejo Filthy Brown, and then drybrushed with GW Dorn Yellow.

Skin - Contrast 2:1 Ork Flesh/Iyanden Yellow + lahmian Medium, Highlight orkish dermis over the highest points (knuckles, lips etc)

Black - VMC black, highlight with adding in S75 Graphene grey, then add in some rainy gray and then add in some more rainy grey.

Leather - contrast wyldwood, drybrush S75 Iroko, drybrush VMC Pale Sand

Pig Fur - Contrast wyldwood, Semi Drybrush Pale Sand

Wood - Contrast cygor brown, drybrush Tuskgor Fur, Drybrush Deathclaw brown

Bone/Teeth - contrast Cygor Brown, highlight VMC German Pale Brown, highlight VMC German mixed with Morgahst bone , Drybrush GW Morghast bone, Drybrush GW Screaming Skull

Pig Skin - Orkish Dermis/Pale Sand (4:1), wash reikland flesh, Highlight Orkish Dermish/Pale Sand, Highlight add pale sand, and repeat.

Tongues - GW Galvorbak Red, Highlight wordbearers red, add in evil suns scarlet, repeat and then add in wildrider red.

Metal - Vallejo Steel, ink Nuln, drybrush Silver, rust is dirty downs rust.

Dags - black templar contrast

Wizard brown robe - VMC Chocolate brown, highlight add pale sand, repeat, repeat, repeat.

Weirdnob flames - Fleshtearers red contrast and then pick out the tops in black.

Bases are the Mars base ready from GeekGaming Scenics over cork bases, and used Geek Gaming red tufts.

So its not the flashest job out there if you get too close, but the army is painted, took me 20-30 hours max and i think i could do the next block faster if i want to expand to a full AOS army as i was working this out as i did it, so next time will be faster.
